EmblemHealth was looking for an audiovisual design build solution for their new Neighborhood Care location in Chinatown. EHNC is an inviting place where the community is welcomed to meet face-to-face with health care solutions specialists to ask questions, get reliable information and have a problem solved. In order to create a streamlined experience for their clients and a flexible audiovisual system for themselves, EmblemHealth consulted with McCann Systems to design, build, and support a solution.
Members are encouraged to go to the EHNC to educate themselves about their health plans, at their own pace, through the immersive digital environment. When members enter EHNC, the interactive experience is triggered on either of the two the 55” Sharp displays in the entryway. The interactive content in this area gives members the opportunity to independently navigate information on EmblemHealth and its various plans. There is also a Microsoft Xbox Kinect system where children can be engaged in sports and exercise games while their parents are touring the facility with a health care expert.
Members are also encouraged to learn more about their health plans using any of the four iPads located at the tablet bar. The tablet bar houses the iPads in a custom mount solution, providing security for the iPads in an architecturally pleasing design while allowing for un-inhibited full functionality.
The special consultation room has a direct connection for a laptop and a wall mounted 42” Sharp flat panel display. Other sources in this room include a digital signage player and local laptop connectivity. The signage application is used as branding and also to broadcast company information. This space was designed for private one-on-one discussion in a comfortable environment. The six other consultation rooms allow clients to go one-on-one with a physician via audio and/or web conference. The control functionality for this room is through a slim form factor Crestron touch panel which gives the user ability to choose presentation or digital signage sources. Like the special consultation room, each consultation room has a designated BrightSign player that plays a digital signage loop when the rooms are not in use.
The flexibility of the audiovisual system in the Community Room allows for a variety of types of usage. The technological and architectural elements of this versatile space make it ideal for company meetings, educational seminars, to even just a simple informative presentation.
