Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, is the second largest casino in the United States.  Located on the Mashantucket Pequot Native American Reservation, the resort honors the Pequot Tribal Nation heritage with exhibits around the casino grounds. McCann Systems was chosen to design and integrate LED video displays into an artistic architectural Pequot Tribe exhibit.

Located in the Great Cedar Retail and Dining Area of the resort, the exhibit consists of two adjacent LED displays, each made up of 17 columns. Due to the unique architecture of the blades McCann chose Christie Velvet 3mm LED. The position of each of the seventeen blades allows the exhibit to appear as one continuous screen. As you approach it the blades and the content separate allowing views through it and into the lush green Pequot Reservation.

The engineering team at McCann Systems performed comprehensive sightline studies to find the optimal pixel pitch, carefully considering typical viewing distance from the exhibit. Based on those studies, Christie Velvet LED technology was chosen for its wide 160°viewing angle and ability to create a crystal clear image from any angle.

Content is fed to both video walls of the exhibit over fiber optic cable from a media player located in a central head-end location.  System users can update and schedule content playback as well control and manage this digital system from this principal site.

The airy visual effect of the displays is pivotal to the attraction and success of the exhibit.  Working closely with the exhibit designers, McCann Systems was able to bring this work of art to life.  McCann worked with Christie Digital to design and manufacture custom LED cabinet enclosures to meet the strict design specifications.

This stunning exhibit captures the essence of the Pequot Indian heritage with its nature inspired design, while integrating the modern sophistication of LED technology.
