Stryker Orthopedics a global leader in medical technology hired McCann Systems to design and integrate their learning center in Mahwah NJ. Upon entering the main lobby visiting doctors are met by an LCD video wall with content driven by Watchout. This creative way of displaying content enables doctors to view the upcoming agenda. Along with the video the background audio system is powered with JBL ceiling speakers.
The second floor pre-function area is an entrance way to the tiered classroom. Flanking the double doors are digital reader welcome boards which were created using 40” LCD’s on each side along with ceiling speakers.
Stryker’s state of the art facility features a tiered classroom. This interactive learning facility allows physicians to observe surgeries going on all over Stryker’s global network with live audio video communications back and forth through the Stryker Comm Surgical Lab. This room includes a Christie HD Projector and a large custom, curved front projection screen. Each partition has their own microphone and muting capability. The presenting doctor is able to explain what is happening and the attendees can communicate with the presenter. In addition to the tiered classroom there are small meeting rooms. These rooms provide an intimate place for high level people to listen to the main presentation while having the opportunity to have one on one conversations all while viewing what the masses are watching. These small meeting rooms are equipped with 50″ plasmas and wall mounted speakers. The 3-Way divisible conference room is equipped with skyfold doors that move electronically into the ceiling. The Crestron control system is programmed in such a manner that all sources either separate or come together based on the state of the space. Floor boxes and ceiling mics are all incorporated throughout the divisible space. In each of the rooms, rear projection SmartBoards with custom designed sleds were installed to allow a clean look and integration with the custom millwork.
The dining multi-function area is another divisible room. The larger side has a 120” projection screen with a Christie projector, wireless mics and floor jacks that can be used as needed. The smaller side is more intimate. Called the Fireside Chat room this portion of the room has a 100” projection screen with a Christie projector. The Patio area is equipped with Bose speakers.
The Main Control Room can monitor, control and record any event in the entire facility.
