Getting Ahead, Together & Better

McCann’s entire engineering team joined in on the fun in Orlando this year at InfoComm 2025. They used the time together to strategize, ideate, and simply spend some face-to-face time together. So, what did the team talk about?

First and foremost, InfoComm is the largest professional audiovisual trade show in North America. It’s where new commercial AV technologies launch, and we had the opportunity to be among the first in the industry to see them.

Secondly, this summit gave our engineers space to align, challenge standards, and sharpen processes. With teams located across the country, many of our engineers met in person for the first time. Here’s our take on InfoComm 2025 and what came out of the McCann engineering summit.

Why It’s Worth Getting Everyone Together

In any organization, you’re either working in the process or on the process. Our engineering summit gave us the chance to reassess our processes, look at where we are, and envision where we’re heading.

“Bringing everyone into one room—one team, one vision—was invaluable,” says Darren Clark, Director of Engineering at McCann Systems. “Gathering our national team in one place reinforced not only our shared goals, but also the drive and curiosity that fuel our work every day.”

This time together let us troubleshoot, exchange ideas, and by the end, become a more efficient team. It was a great onboarding experience for our new engineers, many of whom met the broader team for the first time.

Earning Certifications

Our goal? 100% of McCann engineers will have CTS-D certifications by the year’s end.

Ongoing learning is a core part of how McCann operates. So we’re proud to share that 11 of our engineers received new AVIXIA CTS-D certifications this year. After weeks of preparation leading up to InfoComm, they completed testing on-site.

Seeing Our Partners (and New Technology) on the Showroom Floor

InfoComm is about tech, but it’s also about the people behind it. We reconnected with clients and strategic partners on the show floor, having the conversations that shape future projects.

As for the technology? For the second year in a row, we’re specifically excited about transparent LED displays. They’re getting sharper, more reliable, and more affordable. We already envision great use cases in the future, like the transparent OLED we installed at the Boston Bruins Heritage Hall

Fun & Giving Back

This week wasn’t just about strategy and business—we had some meaningful fun, too. We kicked off the week with the Fred Bargetzi Memorial Golf Outing, of which McCann was a Platinum Sponsor. Fred was a well-known industry veteran, once the CTO of Crestron, and his family continues his legacy through an annual golf tournament, raising money for ALS research.

On Wednesday, after a busy day on the showroom floor, we hosted the Annual McCann InfoComm Event at Cuba Libre, complete with a cigar roller, live five-piece Latin band, several casino tables with live dealers, and a few hundred of our closest industry friends. The chip leaders took home new 4K TVs. We had a great night together and took advantage of the ProAV community gathered in the same city to celebrate some wins.

The Engineering Summit wrapped with arcade games and indoor go-karting at Andretti Orlando. For the record, Ryan P. posted the fastest lap, with Anna close behind.

Did We Meet or Miss You at InfoComm?

Whether we met in Orlando or missed each other, we’d love to continue the conversation. Let’s talk about how McCann can help design, engineer, and install commercial AV solutions for your next project.
