Century 21 Department Store, established in 1961, is legendary for its exceptional offering of designer merchandise at discounted pricing. The retail giant opened its newest location at the Philadelphia Gallery Mall. McCann Systems, a global audiovisual integrator, was chosen to create an impressive and engaging digital signage experience at the entrances of their two level boutique located along Market Street.
McCann Systems designed, engineered, and integrated three separate LED displays to enhance each entrance. With over 1.5 million pixels, Christie Velvet 6mm indoor LED lines the entryways, creating a brilliant, attention-grabbing digital canvas to feature sales and events.
Market Street receives a digital lift with two LED display systems adorning two storefront windows. Almost 50 square feet of the 6mm LED produce dual signage for an outside audience. With a maximum calibrated brightness of 1,000 nits and a 3000:1 contrast ratio, content is vivid and luminous regardless of direct or ambient light.
The Street Level entrance is an asymmetrical design, beginning with a digital column on one side of the entryway and then sprawling across the front of the store’s ceiling. With about 270 square feet of LED reproducing over 281 trillion colors, the entryway signage demands the attention of shoppers and passersby with stimulating custom content.
At the Concourse Level you are drawn in by 300 square feet of 6mm Christie Velvet LED wrapping the escalators. This custom LED marquee attracts shoppers with Century 21’s vivid promotional content. A custom pixel map was created to ensure flawless synced playback on the floor-to-ceiling marquee.
The YCD software system allows for flexibility to save and schedule various media clips. The software then queries the server for the media and places it on the scheduling time-line for playback. Century 21 has the ability to inject live event footage or other graphics and information over top of the scheduled content.
This video solution clearly demands attention.
