Stepping Stones is a non-profit museum committed to inspiring a lifelong love of learning through play, serving children 10 and under. The museum is known for its hands-on exhibits, STEAM-based programs, and deep community and family engagement. To further its mission of experiential education, Stepping Stones partnered with McCann Systems to design and implement an engaging, interactive audiovisual environment.

The museum sought to enhance its Multi-Media Gallery—a space designed to engage children with interactive, tech-forward exhibits—while also updating its theater to function as a dynamic broadcast studio.

McCann Systems worked closely with the museum team to design, engineer, and install cutting-edge AV systems tailored to young users. In the Multi-Media Gallery, McCann upgraded the experience with a new lighting design, and modern sound system—supporting live presentations, educational programming, and creative performances. While a dual curved ultra-wide projection screen is the main focus for digital storytelling, and other activities. Children can interact with the technology through motion-based games projected on the floor, Like virtual balloon popping. McCann transformed the museum’s control room into a versatile broadcast studio. The space now features broadcast-quality mixing, switching, recording and streaming abilities.

The collaboration between McCann and Stepping Stones resulted in a vibrant, interactive space where children can explore technology, express creativity, and learn through immersive digital experiences. The new AV systems not only elevate visitor engagement but also align with the museum’s mission to make learning joyful, inclusive, and future-ready.
