This private research university partnered with McCann Systems to perform a comprehensive audiovisual (AV) refresh of an existing lecture hall at the prestigious business school. The goal was to modernize the space to better support today’s collaborative, presentation-rich, and hybrid learning environments while maintaining ease of use for faculty and guest presenters.

The AV refresh at the university’s business school focused on a full modernization of the lecture hall’s audiovisual infrastructure. This included the installation of a new ceiling-mounted laser projector paired with a 133-inch, 16:9 format projection screen, delivering crisp visuals and optimal visibility throughout the space. A rear-of-room 86” 4K confidence monitor was added and connected via an AV-over-IP decoder to ensure presenters have a clear view of displayed content.

Two new ceiling-mounted cameras were installed and integrated into an AVoIP video routing system, allowing flexible distribution of video feeds to the lectern PC or BYOD devices. The audio system received a significant upgrade with the addition of new ceiling speakers, a ceiling subwoofer, and two recessed multi-element microphones.

A new audio DSP with Dante audio support was implemented to manage signal processing and distribution efficiently. At the lectern, a 22-inch touchscreen monitor was installed to serve as both the primary PC display and the main control interface for the room. This touchscreen includes a graphics control engine for intuitive management of sources, camera presets, and audio levels via a centralized Crestron control system.

The AV refresh at the university’s business school enhances the teaching and presentation experience for both instructors and students. The space is now equipped for advanced lecture capture, flexible content sharing, and intuitive in-room control—all while supporting hybrid learning environments with modern, scalable AV-over-IP architecture.
