Leggat McCall Properties selected McCann Systems to design and implement a building-wide audiovisual integration at 40 Thorndike, which was transformed into a vibrant mixed-use development in East Cambridge. From fitness and conference spaces to lounges and amenity areas, AV technology was carefully customized to support wellness, collaboration, and tenant engagement throughout the building.

In the main training room, an advanced AV system features large-format displays mounted at the front and side walls for high-impact visual engagement. The room is controlled via a user-friendly touchscreen that manages content routing, microphone settings, and lighting presets.

A signature conference room is similarly equipped with two large displays, ceiling speakers, and a mix of fixed and wireless microphones, supported by a room control system with both in-room and exterior scheduling touch panels.

Other meeting rooms are outfitted with front-mounted displays paired with all-in-one AV soundbars, enabling unified collaboration. HDMI and USB connections make the spaces ideal for hybrid meetings and plug-and-play sessions. Huddle spaces follow the same design philosophy, creating an accessible and scalable experience across a wide variety of spaces.

In the open office area, large displays and soundbars provide a team focal point for presentations and collaboration. A sound masking system enhances speech privacy and comfort in the shared workspace. The welcome center at the entrance of the 5th Floor amenity space features a large-format digital signage display for tenant communications and wireless presentation capability.

Finally, the yoga, fitness, and wellness rooms are powered by a dedicated audio system and wall-mounted media player, with auxiliary input support for instructors or individual users seeking personalized playlists or ambient audio.

This thoughtful AV integration reflects Leggat McCall’s vision for a modern, tech-forward environment that fosters flexibility, well-being, and meaningful human connection at 40 Thorndike.
