McCann Systems is looking for Live Event /Broadcast Technicians in the DFW Texas area. We are currently accepting resumes for onsite positions for an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

This is a hands-on role involved in many aspects of the day-to-day technical needs of as it relates to live events and broadcast productions. This position will work closely with technicians and producers who are highly technical and versed across different specialties such as Audio, Video, Lighting, IP Networking, Broadcast Engineering and Broadcast/Router signal flow.

The Event Technician will provide production support across a range of live and broadcast events in a corporate live event/broadcast environment. Work with technical, logistical, production, and any relevant teams and team members to appropriately communicate, source, and manage equipment, crew, staging, video, lighting, and other event and broadcast related items

Required Skills

Extensive experience in all aspects of live events and broadcast productions. Proficiency in one or all of the following: live sound reinforcement, video switching, video engineering, show calling, broadcast production, stage lighting, camera engineering, content management, project management.

Technicians are expected to understand and assist with a multitude of tasks including:                                 

  • Ability to set up, operate, and breakdown audio/video/lighting equipment
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to accomplish tasks
  • Pre-event planning and resource scheduling
  • Handles all tech requests from internal teams 
  • Ensure proper sound, video, content display and lighting for internal events and broadcasts.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsal, training, and maintenance.
  • Possess and exhibit excellent written and oral communication, strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Develop the technical and production requirements for various events, including timelines and equipment across a variety of events

Possible Secondary contributions 

  • Daily functionality checks of audio visual and presentation technologies
  • Provide “white glove” treatment to end users
  • Assist with installations if needed/required
  • Assist with scheduling, and coordination of client activities, meetings, events, and AV installations to ensure planning and support is flawless
  • Provide AV support for local, and remote offsite meetings including occasional travel
  • Set up and manage all audio & visual equipment, providing maintenance and recommendations for replacements for in-house equipment to the client and company
  • Proactively perform preventative maintenance to resolve problems or identify resolutions to appropriate vendors or manufacturers
  • Troubleshoot and rectify critical AV System failures that affect end users
  • Run with company meetings/functions that require use of installed or mobile AV infrastructure
  • Interact with McCann Systems Help Desk ticketing system to respond to end user requests
  • Gathering of data from support procedures, customer ticketing system, and other sources to provide data for generation of monthly or quarterly service reporting to Customer
  • Ensure all conference spaces are presentable for use

General Experience

  • Experience in a service-related industry
  • Knowledge of audio-visual equipment
  • Proficient with MS office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Understanding and knowledge of AV practices and procedures, as well as event set-up, staging, and strike
  • Hard and soft video conferencing experience including operation, call set-up and equipment troubleshooting
  • Cabling, termination and testing knowledge
  • Ability to understand AV System design and signal flow
  • Ability to use AV control systems to start and run meetings
  • Clear and positive communication skills and accommodating attitude are required

Hours

  • Minimum 40 Hours, Monday – Friday
  • Must be flexible to work additional hours and on weekends as required on an overtime basis (rare)

Location

  • Reporting to the customer site daily, Frisco TX
