McCann Systems, a well-established commercial audiovisual design-build firm, is seeking an experienced Audiovisual Systems Technician to join our team. We are looking for an all-around audiovisual expert to join our tremendously talented and dedicated staff. Job Description
The preferred candidate will have a technical background in the audiovisual industry, strong leadership and customer interaction skills. Candidates must have the ability to trouble-shoot basic audio, video, and control system problems and have familiarity with major brands of audiovisual systems and components. Related experience in similar industries such as IT, residential AV, Security and Electrical will be considered. The successful candidate must be a hard working team player, computer proficient, have a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record. On the job and formal training will provide a path to unlimited growth potential within this fast growing company and will be solely dependent on your hard work and determination to achieve success. Candidates must be open to travel and overtime as needed.
A candidate for this position must possess the following skills:
- Motivated and works well on their own or with others
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to read and understand wiring drawings
- Detail and process oriented (a must)
- Effective problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
- Effective professional-level interaction with employees, contractors and customers
- Industry certifications such as CTS, Crestron, AMX or Extron are preferred but not required
- Solid experience in commercial audiovisual installations including projectors, projection screens, video displays, cabling and rack wiring
- Use of hand tools including BNC crimp and compression tools, RJ45 crimpers, Dsub crimpers, soldering iron
- Hands on experience with major brands of Video Codecs to include Polycom, Cisco and LifeSize
- Knowledge of Audio DSP devices
- Basic understanding of IP Networks
